Ankur Project Inauguration

Hirabai Cowasji Jehangir Medical Research Institute has initiated a project, ‘Ankur’ supported by Bajaj Finserv under its social impact initiative in Pune city, which will work to control NCDs by health screening and growth monitoring of school-going children, monitoring of maternal and child health and scheduled clinics for screening of NCDs and linking the resources for treatment in urban areas of Pune city. The project, which started in March 2023, has so far screened around 7000 people (~6700 in the age group of 15 and above, 173 school-going children, 40 Anganwadi children, over 100 ANC mothers and more than 140 patients have been followed up for treatment).

This project was formally inaugurated at Jehangir Hospital, Pune, on 11th Oct’23. The ANKUR mobile clinic was inaugurated by Mrs Shefali Bajaj, Chairperson Steering Committee of Bajaj Finserv, and Mr Kurush Irani, President- Group CSR, Bajaj Finserv, in the presence of Mr Vinod Sawantwadkar, CEO Jehangir Hospital, Dr. Kalpana Baliwant, Medical Officer of Health at Pune Municipal Corporation, Dr Uma Divate, Director of HCJMRI, Dr. Anuradha Khadilkar, Deputy Director of HCJMRI, Mrs Leena Rajan- Deputy National Lead CSR Bajaj Finserv, Mrs.Yojana Palse-Sr. Manager CSR Bajaj Finserv.
